On Wednesday 3 February Mr David Garrido was inducted by Bishop Hendricks as the 33rd head teacher of St Joseph’s College Beulah Hill.
We were joined on the occasion by Dr Ann Bamford, the diocesan director of Education, De la Salle Brothers, Sean, Ben and John, two local councillors The deputy mayor Wayne Trakas-Lawlor, and Pat Ryan, former Thomas More Head Mr John Casey, Mrs Joana Hawthorne from St Chad’s, Sister Bernadette from Virgo Fidelis High, Mr Patrick Shields from St Mary’s High and Mr Sean Maher from Richard Challoner as well as current students, former students and their parents. We also had guests from The British Home with whom we have an historical working relationship. Mr Garrido’s wife and son were also with us
. 
The band and the choir were both in attendance and played a brand new Mass setting, The Mass of St Joseph’s College, written by Head of Music, Mr Baxter for the occasion.
The psalm was read by Year Eight student Kaiden Cummins and his father, Patrick, who is a former student of the college. There were seven altar servers including three six form students one of whom, Emmanuella, was our first ever girl altar server.

Mr Garrido was presented with the mission statement and key to the school by Mr Sweeney the chair of governors, Bishop Hendricks presented him with the Bible. After Communion Jacqueline and Zachery sang Panus Angelicus.

The reception in the parlour was very well attended and all present agreed we are all looking forward to watching St Joseph’s College grow while in Mr Garrido’s care.
